Bullet Points of Fryeburg Rec. Nordic Ski Program 2006

·        8 weeks of Saturdays, 10-noon, starting 2nd Saturday in January to the end of February.

·        Ages 3 yrs – 6th grade (Parent or responsible adult required to stay with children under 6 yrs)

·        Practice is held at Stark’s Hill in Fryeburg.  Please call or go to the Directions Map

·        Practice will not be held if temp is below 10 degrees or storming excessively, please call if you are unsure

·        Skis/Boots/Poles are available for rent through the Maine Winter Sport Center for a small fee of $45.00 for the entire season if kids are in need.  Excellent opportunity for first year skiers that are just looking try things out but not sure if they are ready to make the commitment of buying their own package

·        If you are ready to buy your own package please don’t hesitate to call for ideas and suggestions

·        Parents are always welcome and are encouraged to stay and ski if they desire, limited equipment is available if needed

·        For safety’s sake hats/headbands, water proof mittens/gloves, snow pants, windproof jackets with non-cotton layers, and non-cotton socks are a must.  Please remember if your child is inappropriately dressed he/she will not be allowed to practice

·        Races are available if there is interest.  I will be happy to attend and help guide children and parents through the race experience, but this is definitely not required

·        All levels are encouraged to participate; there will be fun for everyone!
