Public Skiing at STARKS

Located in the Mount Washington Valley, Fryeburg Academy lies in the snow belt of New England, receiving reliable snow in mid-December with great skiing conditions lasting into April.

F.A.S.T. Nordic competes in a very competitive schedule.  The team has an average of one conference, and one state level race per week from the first of January to the end of February (see Class A & WMC).

F.A.S.T. Nordic maintains and trains at its own, private, 5-mile trail network located less than a mile from campus.  The team also regularly travels to other local touring centers to train on weekends and holidays.  The prestigious Jackson Ski Touring Center is just 30 minutes from Campus.

The season officially begins at the end of November with dryland training with the Alpine team.  Dryland focuses on functional yet fun workouts that include a mixture of running, weight training, soccer and frisbee, dryland ski progressions and the teams annual game of Capture the Flag. By mid- December on snow practices begin.  The availability of skiing on man made snow from anyone of 5 local Alpine areas helps ensure this.  Post season skiing continues in March with preparations for New England Championships.

The Alpine and Nordic Teams work closely and Skimeisters are encouraged.
