Fryeburg Academy has fielded an organized Alpine team since 1947. With Fryeburg Academy's location in the Mount Washington Valley, Alpine racers have 5 local mountains to train and ski at within 30 minutes of campus and another 5 within 1 hour. Located 15 minutes from campus is F.A.S.T. Alpine's home mountain of Mt. Cranmore in North Conway, New Hampshire. The team trains daily on gates at Cranmore after school and with Cranmore's high speed lift service training is maximized. The season officially begins at the end of November with dryland training with the Nordic team. As soon as nature provides either natural snow or snow making conditions on snow training begins by mid-December. F.A.S.T. Alpine has one Conference Race per week (see Class A & WMC) and the availability of FIS races on the weekends throughout the season with the Class B State Championships ending the season in late February.
